| me and mike just got back from bonnaroo last tuesday. what a trip. radiohead put on a sweet show, and everyone else we saw (with just a few exceptions) were amazing: tom petty, phil lesh, death cab for cutie, sonic youth, the cat empire, ben folds, beck. the drive back was pretty crazy. twenty straight hours of driving. three redbulls and about 5 gas refuelings was all it took. we're getting back into the swing of summer now, with urop work starting to pick up and finally getting around to moving in to our room. this summer has already been a shitload of fun. all those times during the school year, me and my friends would come up with fun ideas to do, but we'd never have the time or energy to get around to it. now that its summer, there is almost all the time in the world. last night me and a friend cooked a 5 course chinese banquet. that would never happen during the year. so much fun. so the bad part about my two urops having very flexible hours and getting to work from home is that i have to work on s sunday afternoon. ahh well, makes up for the ridiculously lax week i've had. =)

| i just got back from the radiohead concert. it was fuckin awesome. getting the tickets was a completely last minute thing. i love the flexibility of summer. the concert just left me wanting more. the fuckin awesome part is that i'm gonna be seeing them again in 2 weeks at bonnaroo. the tix for bonnaroo just came today. i can't wait. its gonna be the time of a life.

| so last night i got into bed at 3 am, thinking i would get a moderately good nights sleep. i had to get up at 8:30 this morning to go to class, so i thought 5 and half hours of sleep would be pretty good for my marathon monday. 6 hours of classes and 5.5 hours of sleep, i thought that would be an alright ratio. but then i got in bed.....and tossed and turned for two fucking hours! last time i looked at the clock it was 5am. that is probably one of the most annoying feelings in the world cause i knew that i was gonna wake up in 3.5 hours and wish for nothing more than to be able to sleep for two more hours, two more hours that i spent tossing and turning. during that time, i kept thinking to myself that i should just get up and do something productive, instead of lie there....but by the same token, who knows when your last minute of conciousness will be? i feel like my body was getting back at me for seeing the sun rise 3 days in a row before last night. my class schedule is really not helping my sleep cycle either. having 5-6 hours of classes on monday, wednesday, friday and 0 classes on tuesday and thursday is really not good for getting a consistant amount of sleep.
today i built a badass ferris wheel in STOMP club. it was pretty rickidy, but badass nonetheless. i can't wait to go to the afterschool program tomorrow and teach the first lesson to a new group of kids. it should be pretty fun and really challenging, i hope the kids are cool.
its pretty overcast out....reminds me of home.
i also am getting really excited to go to bonnaro this summer. so far me and mike oh are going...we're still looking for a few more cool people to come with, so if you're interested let me know! (bonnaro.com) it should be an awesome concert...really hippie style....i'm trying to grow my hair out for the event.
next semester should be pretty stressful, i recently have picked up a lot of leadership positions for next term: pbe acomm, csc treasurer, fencing team armorer, and stomp treasurer/coordinator. and on top of that all the classes that i'll be taking....i'm kinda reconcidering taking a couple of easier classes in light of all these jobs that i'll be having, but i can't decide if thats selling out my academics for my extracurriculars or if its just being practical about life. oh well....everything always seems to fit together somehow.
heard a nice quote yesterday: You've achieved success in your field when you
don't know whether what you're doing is work or play.
